Access to a new world just beginning
Endless possibilities
Connections through space & time
Instantaneous everything waiting
The people rejoiced
Finally all brought together
Little did they know
It would tear them all apart
Slowly the fractures grew
& started to spread
Now truth was an invention
Reality speculative
A market for hypocrisy
Lies became a currency
Violence a commodity
The same gift that set them free
Spread hate & fear from sea to sea
Some used it to inspire
Others to incite
Some used it to empower
Others to ignite
& the lies spread quicker than the truth
Like burning gasoline along every route
& the kings & queens of make-believe
Built soapboxes out of irony
Egos & insanity
& others followed blindly
& the gods pretended there was nothing they could do
While cashing in blood & untruths
Battle lines had now been drawn
The great equalizer was the greatest pawn
& the lies grew further from the truth
& in between the violence brewed
& still they pretend there’s nothing they can do
As profits divide me & you
