Let the statues fall
We don’t need them where we’re going
& let’s stop canonizing men who never deserved to be gods
We could have it all
If we all could just stop fighting
About the value of a life
Based on the lines that they have drawn

Let’s stop living in the past
While our future is waiting
We’ll only make it out together
There’s enough to go around
So let the statues fall
We can rebuild from the rubble
Forget whatever they told you
We’re writing the story now

& we will not lie down
To pave a path for ignorance
& we will not sit silent
While our lives are on the line

& I’ve been out
& either way

My sanity

For the missing pieces of my heart

You stole right out from under me

Part heist, part work of art


I know you like

The way they sparkle

Up there on that shelf

But the black holes that you left behind

Are a hazard to my health

With booze, bad decisions & regret

But nothing seems to fit

& I’m all out of bets

Tiananmen – 28 years later

28 years of hand washing
& still the blood remains
As fresh on Chinese streets
As it did that very day

28 years later
& still nothing has changed
China has no freedom
Her people have no say

28 years later
& still lay dead the brave

The world will never forget
She always wears the shame

Where will we run?

When we can’t breathe the sky,

What good have we done?

When this Earth is gone,
